Welcome To The 5th Issue of Volume 2!

Community: Mission Wolf Needs Our Help!

Mission: Wolf needs your help*

Wow! A rain for the ages came down at Mission: Wolf yesterday. Almost 4 inches in a little over an hour caused a 3-4 ft. deep river to run straight through the middle of the sanctuary carrying rocks, trees, and other debris with it.

A soggy staff ran into the middle of the storm and ensured all of Mission: Wolf’s animals were out of danger. We’re very grateful for the hundreds of volunteers over the years who built enough acreage of fence that provided safe & secure spaces for the animals and helped us manage such a crazy situation yesterday.

Long story short: we need a lot of help..

An estimated 50 steel gates, 150 posts, and thousands of feet of fence now need repair. Not to mention many areas of roadwork from erosion and damaged areas of horse pasture. To get started, we need funding to buy fencing materials and lots of hands to help shovel and remove several tons of debris.

We anticipate it costing tens of thousands of dollars and the entire rest of our summer and fall to get us back to where it was before the storm.

Let us know if you can bring your friends, a 4-wheel drive vehicle, work gloves/boots, and want to give some of your time lending a hand. (info@missionwolf.org / 719-859-2157)
If you want to help by making a donation, find our donation page at www.missionwolf.org/donate-now

Thank you for anything you're able to offer as help to rebuild the wolves their home. It could have been much worse! Still, this one will be remembered for a long long time.

Sons & Brothers are excited to be hosting a benefit concert for Sangre de Cristo Christian School in Westcliffe on Aug. 6. The concert will be held at 6 p.m. at Sangre de Cristo Cowboy Church at 60260 Colo. 69. Prior to the concert, the school will be providing dinner starting at 5 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are not required; however, reservations and donations are encouraged. The concert will be offered free to the public.
Sons & Brothers / the Wolking brothers have been delighting audiences with their unique blend of American musical styles for more than 20 years. Now the band is focusing on bringing the Gospel message to people through music.
“Our mission is to play Gospel music and give it away,” said Aaron Wolking. “We’re pretty much ready to take the music and the message to just about anyone willing to listen.”
More recent additions to the band include the multi-talented contributions of Rob Paulin on percussion and vocals and Zack White on guitar, piano and vocals.
Sangre de Cristo Christian School (SCCS) provides a Christ-centered education leading to personal discovery of God’s truth, personal and active faith in God, lifelong love for intellectual and cultural development, and an awareness and cultivation of individual giftedness. SCCS also focuses students’ attention on the importance of building community and an awareness and appreciation of society which impels actions. SCCS offers affordable, accessible and flexible scheduling for your K-8 student. SCCS also offers need-based scholarships with flexible tuition rates. SCCS core and elective classes are presented in partnership with Colorado Springs Christian Schools (CSCS).
Wolking hopes residents in both Custer and Fremont counties will make a visit to Sangre de Cristo Cowboy Church on Aug. 6 to learn more about what SCCS is offering parents and children, as well as to enjoy good food, good music and good fellowship. For more information, call 719-232-5372 or visit www.sangredecristocowboychurch.com.
