Welcome To The 46th Issue of Volume 2!
Custer County Student Signs with Dordt University
Senior Emma Rusk has signed a letter of intent with Dordt University in
Sioux Center, Iowa for Track and Field. Dordt University is a Christian
NAIA school that competes in the Great Plains Conference. "Choosing
Dordt was one of the easiest choices I've ever made," said Rusk. "In
looking for a college, I was nervous for a place I could call home, but
with the help of the Dordt coaches and my admissions counselor, I knew
Dordt was the one. I'm very excited to be part of the track team! I'm
thankful for my high school coaches who pushed me to be my best and my
family for their endless support!" Rusk is currently ranked 9th in the
state in the 100m dash and will also be running in the girls 4x400m
relay at state (currently ranked 10th). She is the 2023 Southern Peaks
League Champion in the 100m. Rusk's current personal record in the
100m is 13.00s and she is working on trying to break the school record
of 12.8 (actually held by her aunt). Congratulations Emma!
