New Writers’ Group Forming to Serve Southern Colorado Author
On Saturday, November 12, at 4 p.m. the West Custer County Library will host an organizational meeting for a new writer’s group, in the Library’s Community Room. The meeting will be open to all with an interest in the writing craft. “We are out to serve the spectrum of the literary community,” says meeting leader James Haley. “Working pros can come to network, young writers can gain a better feel for what the life is like, and everyone will benefit from the fellowship.” High school students are welcome to join the meeting.
The meeting leader, James L. Haley, is the Writer-in-Residence at the Pines Ranch. A two-time winner of the Western Writers of America Spur Award, he is the author of seven novels, and more than a dozen nonfiction books. “For writers in rural areas, the isolation both professionally and emotionally can be difficult. So, once a month we will aim to give programs everyone will find useful, and social time with others on similar journeys.”
For more information, please contact Cathy McCarthy at cathy@westcusterlibrary.org.
