Welcome To The 14th Issue of Volume 2!
"I'm So Glad I live in a World Where There are October's --L.M.
Montgomery
Autumn is progressing as seen by the days growing colder and the somehow more frigid nights becoming longer.
In September, it seemed somewhat of a joke to think it could be cold, despite the fact that we knew it would. By the end of winter, we are hardened to bone- chilling mornings and bitingly, bitter nights. The chilly temperature now would have felt boiling hot in the piercing freeze of last winter, but, as I said, we grew numb to the cold.
In the Summer we enjoyed, or hated the heat, but nevertheless, we have been accustomed to it. Now it is October 4, and with the change of fall comes the approaching chill of winter. I only write of it because I'm sitting here in the black of night with cold feet and I wanted to complain without complaining. The changing nature of autumn also brings a sort of mental warmth we get by seeing those bright fall colors, and we remind ourselves of all the ways we can cozy up under what seems like 60 pounds of blankets to get toasty while we watch Halloween movies in the company of friends, or alone in sweet, sweet solitude.
Last week, we took another trip “down the hill” and I got to capture what has changed between the first article I did about the colors and now. While you browse, I hope you're doing it with the memory of the smell of pumpkin -anything or if you don't swing that way, the smell of apple cider and the comfort of a warm fireplace somewhere close by.
The next time you take a trip out to see the gorgeous autumn trees, snap a few pix and share them with us! We would love to share your work far and wide, with readers of TVB!
