Flags to fly half-staff on Dec. 7 in honor of the brave souls that perished during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941
Next Saturday, December 7, flags will be flown half-staff, to honor those brave and heroic
2,403 soldiers that fought valiantly during the attack by Japanese forces on Pearl Harbor in
Hawaii on December 7, 1941
Even though it is not considered a national holiday, it was declared a day of remembrance in
1994 by then president Bill Clinton. Flags will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset each
year on that day.
So, when you see flags lowered this coming Saturday and wonder why, you will know.
Please take a moment and pause to honor all those that have fought for the many freedoms we
enjoy in our great country.
