High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival announces charitable gifts
Continuing support for children’s health issues in Custer County
The High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association, sponsors of the annual High Mountain
Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival, is distributing over $53,000 to local nonprofit organizations. The
festival has raised over $655,000 for Custer County charitable organizations over the seventeen
years of its existence.
The Festival Association is donating $45,520 to the High Mountain Hay Fever Children’s
Health Fund, an advised fund initiated by the Festival Association Board in partnership with the
Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation (WMVCF) in 2015. The focus of the fund is
children’s health in Custer County with a broad umbrella to include physical, emotional, social
and educational health needs. The funds are distributed through a grant process administered by
the Children’s Health Fund Committee overseen by the WMVCF.
The Festival Association continues to support the Custer County EMS with a gift of $6,000.
In addition, donations of $500 each were awarded to the Sheriff’s Posse, the Wet Mountain
Valley Rotary, Rotary International and the Artistic Edge Dance Studio Competition Dance
Team for their help during the festival. The Festival Board reserves adequate funds to continue
improving the quality of the event.
The Bluegrass Festival is a quality event that benefits the entire community. The 2019 festival
featured a great line-up including Joe Mullens and the Radio Ramblers, The Kody Norris Show,
Nothing Fancy, many more nationally recognized bluegrass performers, and festival host bands
Dry Branch Fire Squad and Sons and Brothers.
More information on the High Mountain Hay Fever Festival is available at
www.highmountainhayfever.org, or its Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/highmountainhayfever/.
The High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association is a non-profit organization run by an
incredible group of volunteers who work year-round to make the festival happen. The festival
remains an intimate event, avoiding the sprawl and congestion of large festivals while offering
nationally recognized bluegrass talent and remaining true to its motto: “Small Scale, Big Time”.
Thanks to all in the community for supporting HMHF!
